This website is all about the complex and fascinating geology of Connecticut. Our essential question:
What happened in the past to cause the geologic features you see today?
A series of virtual Field Investigations throughout the state help to answer this.
Expert geologists Jay Ague and Ralph Lewis lead us through geologic sites of interest, including Rocky Neck, Ledyard, Hammonasset, Sleeping Giant, and more.
Short videos and various "tools" allow visitors to explore each location.
Teachers may use this site in a variety of ways, but in general, students are encouraged to record observations about their virtual field investigations and answer questions about what they see.
